Australia s taking a stand against domestic violence. As soon as the new Prime Minister of Australia, took over last week, the first policy was aimed at tackling domestic violence.
“Violence against women is one of the great shames of Australia. It is a national disgrace and a big cultural shift is needed to deafeat it.”
In view of that, the Minister of Women Affairs on Sunday, said that the government was seriously considering refusing Chris Brown entry to Australia over his conviction for the 2009 assault he carried out on Rihanna.
Chris Brown has planned a number of concerts in Australia, in December but if the ban goes through, hw won’t be able to get in. He has also been barred from Britain and Canada.
‘I can assure you it is something that the minister for immigration is looking at and I would recommend a ban,” the minister for women affairs, Michaelia Cash said.
“People need to understand that if you are going to commit domestic violence and then you want to travel around the world, there are going to be countries that say to you; ‘You cannot come in because you are not of the character that we expect in Australia.”
Cash also said she revoked the visa of a very very very wealthy boxer, when she was Immigration minister because of his multiple convictions of assaulting women. This boxer is likely to be Floyd Mayweather.
